Aquarius New Moon

Welcome to the First New Moon of 2023 and Happy Chinese New Year!

The Aquarius New Moon January 21^st serves as an opening to new trends, new friends and future feels.

This year is The Year of the Rabbit, known to be the luckiest sign in the Chinese Zodiac.  I guess that’s why a lucky rabbit’s foot was a thing once upon a time.  The Rabbit is associated with beauty elegance and good taste, along with possessing a high survival instinct and an ability to follow one’s intuition to avoid dangerous situations. 

The Sabian Symbol for this New Moon is, “an unexpected thunderstorm”.  If things feel frenzied, ask yourself if this storm has come about to disrupt (y)our life or to clear a path for (y)our future. 

Mars, Jupiter and Pluto all connect with this New Moon…

Mars in Gemini energizes this New Moon keeping things on the move as situations accelerate quickly and things could change course suddenly.  Mars has remained in the same degree since the start of the month due to the recent switch from retrograde to direct motion, putting an extra emphasis on active communication. This phase brings a flurry of calls, conferences, news, announcements and direct messages as word spreads like wildfire.  This is a busy phase with a sense of excitement and haste.      

Jupiter in Aries connects favorably with this New Moon bringing progress, growth, and advancement as things develop rapidly.  You’re willing to move forward into new territory with confidence and a belief in yourself.  An opportunity may arise that requires you to immediately act on the spot. 

Alternatively, you could experience this phase with increasing anger, impatience and harsh words or perhaps you’re on the receiving end of these things.  In some situations, you could see a rise in violence and fighting or even a need for Martial Law. 

Pluto in Capricorn is also closely connected to the New Moon, although it’s out of sign, suggesting the liberation from something that’s had a hold on you, giving over much of your power and control, that’s stood in the way, preventing you from moving into your highest vibrational timeline and living your best life. 

Uranus in Taurus is the ruler of this Aquarius New Moon and is ready to shift into forward motion the very next day – after a five-month retrograde phase. 

As of the 22^nd all planets are in direct motion until May.  Further emphasizing change and acceleration. 

Venus and Saturn also have a meetup in Aquarius during this phase, starting a new cycle for committed relationships, long-term agreements or establishing friendships that stand the test of time or that have a common purpose or the formation of a community, group or association.  Or it may involve your financial framework and commitments, particularly electronic or digital funds.

Scorpio New Moon

The Scorpio New Moon November 4^th is an extraordinary phase that may shake you to the core, being full of unsettling surprises and unpredictability, as Uranus in Taurus sends an electrifying beam to the New Moon from across the sky. 

This New Moon has a Full Moon feel, and emotions will be intense.  You could be highly sensitive to what’s seen and unseen, said and unsaid now, as you can feel the undercurrent of what’s happening all around you, able to read the vibe of the room or the situation.

Neptune in Pisces also aligns favorably with this lunation, upping the otherworldliness, and supernatural sensitivity.

 Both Scorpio and Taurus like security, comfort and control, in an emotional sense and financially, and this New Moon will test all of that and more.    

Both are also financial signs, so you may be dealing with changes to earnings, income and costs, market instability, or changes in the value of currencies, as well as taxes, insurance, loans, banking, inheritances, wills and estates. 

This phase my shake you out of your comfort zone, forcing you to face your demons, testing what you’re made of, challenging your competence and capability, your constitution and foundation.   Things could seem scary or exciting and thrilling.  It certainly won’t be boring.  The depth of your emotions may take you by surprise as you’re moved to let go, and trust at a very deep level.  You may become suddenly aware of things that have eluded you or that you’ve been avoiding, leaving you with profound insights, flashes of intuition and moments of discovery coming from deep reflection and breaking into liberation.

Scorpio is the sign of death and rebirth.  This doesn’t necessarily mean death in a physical sense, but death of a situation, of what once was, as a part of you dies, you’re then reborn out of the ashes, renewed, but left with the scars of experience of having been to hell and back.

This New Moon is for shedding an old skin and setting intention for a new, up-leveled version you – as your senses awaken and come online, triggering a shift in your position and the constructs of your existence. 

The Sabian Symbol for this lunation reads, “an inventor inventing” suggesting that the time is ripe with plenty of opportunity to recreate things on a new level, a period to revitalize, restore and renew.  The area in your chart that this lunation falls will show where you need to cut out the dead wood and regenerate.

The Full Moon on August 22^nd is a rare and special second Full Moon in Aquarius, giving a double dose of the Freedom loving Humanitarian sign.  This lunation falls in the last degree of the sign, where the energies tend to behave a bit erratically, in what feels like the wrap-up before something new can begin. 

The Aquarius Full Moon highlights topics surrounding freedom, liberty and sovereignty, originality, inventiveness and technology, brotherhood, sisterhood and friendships, groups, co-ops, communities, organizations and causes.   

 Jupiter retrograde is closely connected to this Full Moon, revealing truth, wisdom and a deeper understanding, bringing a sudden revelation or discovery, flashes of insight, inspiration, and intuition, aha moments, mass awakenings and large groups coming together for a common cause, elevating the vibration.  The atmosphere is full of excitement, drama, fervor and frenzy.   There may even be new developments or advancements in science, technology, air and space travel that come to light now. 

Uranus, the ruler of Aquarius, turned retrograde in Taurus, just days before the Full Moon, retracing his steps, bringing in an internal revolution as senses awaken and come online.
