Leo New Moon

11 Aug

Leo pic

This New Moon on August 14 is in fiery Leo may have us feeling fired up, playful and creative.  Venus retrograde is close to this New Moon and it may be that there are some creative longings or desires that creep up from the past.  You may have even forgotten about it because it’s been “shelved” so long. It could be one of those times when you say, “Hey I always wanted to do….” and now finally get an opportunity.  During this time we may be in the process of re-discovering or re-evaluating some of our talents, abilities and potential. It may be a time for finding your niche and what sets you apart.  In matters of the heart, we may be reconsidering what we need to feel loved or to feel special by getting in touch with ourselves at our core essence and to be able to feel valued and appreciated for just being ourselves.  When the love planet Venus backtracks in a romantic sign like Leo, you could also have encounters with old flames or relationships from the past.  Venus is also the planet of beauty but while she is retrograde, it’s not a good period to go shopping for new clothes or to change up your looks with new hairstyles or make-up.  You may not be happy with the results or maybe you would pay too much. This is definitely not a time for any cosmetic surgery.  Wait until after September 6th when Venus is in direct motion.

This New Moon is in a favorable aspect to Uranus in Aries.  There’s a buzz of excitement in the air.  There seem to be new and exciting changes on the horizon. Some may be unexpected or it may seem that it’s all happening so fast.  We may feel courageous and able to break free and to be independent.  Many of us may be on high and feeling this new frequency or vibration.

With the New Moon in a quincunx to Chiron in Pisces, these changes don’t come without some growing pains.  So there are adjustments needed but mostly in our attitude and confidence.  We should be ok as long as we’re not immersed in self-absorption or self-centeredness. We can’t just let our ego desires and wants or a sense of entitlement take over. Some tweaking is needed between being ostentatious or pompous and just surrendering to hopelessness and helplessness or playing victim. Try and find some middle ground. We are all in this together. It is helpful if we try to remain heart centered with the greatest good in mind.  Energy work could be very beneficial at this time in order to align or balance the heart chakra and attune it because of wounding from the past.  You can book your appointment with me.  Hint hint.

In matters of love, this could be a time when we reconsider or look back on relationships from the past and determine the role we may have played in our own wounding, or how we hurt another.  This time may be useful for learning forgiveness, for breaking free and releasing old karma.

Just days before the New Moon, on August 11th, Jupiter moved out of Leo where he’s been for the last year and into Virgo.  The last time Jupiter was in Virgo was in 2003-2004 so you can look back and see what kind of growth you experienced during that period. Jupiter will remain in Virgo for the next year.  This is a time when we can get uber organized.  We are able to break down a larger task into its smaller components now. Our attitude towards work or service can be optimistic and have us feeling generous. It is a good time to promote or advertise your services.  We can increase our efficiency and improve our techniques, procedures or craft.  During the next year, we may have a larger workload, a fuller schedule or an expanded routine.  It is a great time to also increase your exercise regimen or to start one and to improve the diet.  Overall it is a good time to recover, purify and heal the body.

Saturn in Scorpio

13 Jul

This is a Mercury Retrograde re-post since Saturn turned direct earlier in the week. I am re-posting this from back in October.

Saturn has been touring the sign of Libra for the last two and a half years or more which has been forcing us to ‘get real’ in regard to relationship issues or maybe a relationship has become ‘solidified’ or ‘crystallized’ or permanent within your own life.  Issues of equality have also been in the forefront (remember Libra’s scales?).  We’ve even seen this very literal manifestation play out on the world stage with all the attention given to the issues of gay marriage and equality.  The focus is about to change as Saturn, A.K.A “Lord of Karma” and “The Task Master” enters murky Scorpio waters on October 5, 2012.  Saturn forces us to focus and consolidate our energy in whichever area of the chart He is posited in.  With Saturn in the sign of Scorpio, issues of power, control and authority are highlighted and things may seem to get down and dirty before all is said and done as Saturn will be in Scorpio for the next two and a half years or so.  The truth be told, there is nothing light or easy breezy about this transit.  Scorpio governs over the life and death cycles, sex, taxes and other peoples’ money but it goes way deeper than that.  This isn’t just about physical death or physical sex but more like intimacy and sharing and the transformation that follows.  True intimacy requires vulnerability and vulnerability requires trust.  It’s the kind of trust that asks, “Can I trust this person with my whole being?”  The part of a self that is secret and it’s ugliness locked away.  Scorpio is a psychological sign as well as ruling over things that are secret or taboo.   Scorpio territory is the underworld and these are exactly the kind of issues being tested when Saturn enters the realm of the dead.  Saturn here may break or build boundaries in any of these areas of our lives.  We may be faced with someone trying to exert authority over us where we become engaged in power struggles complete with issues of manipulation or jealousy.  It could be that we’ve been living with the status quo (Saturn) in order to keep the peace and harmony (Libra) only to be confronted by the demons (Scorpio) lurking below .  The time of the delicate and sometimes precarious balance of Libra has come to an end since Scorpio is more of an all or nothing type of energy.  Gone is the vacillation or the social niceties.  Saturn teaches us some of our toughest and most important lessons in life, hence the nicknames above.  The lessons of Saturn are practical in the truest sense, meaning:  learning by experiencing; there is no paging through the manual here-everything is earned including our scars.  This position of Saturn can test our resolve, break down our boundaries and even bring out our ruthlessness.  It may also give us strength and discipline to face our darkest fears and limitations and allow ourselves to be transformed and reborn anew.

New Moon Solar Eclipse in Taurus

8 May

Its Eclipse time and change is in the air. There was much we had to get to the core of lately, and extract any decay or ‘non-essentials’.  Something may have met its end. Don’t worry!  We need to make room for the new!  Several of the personal planets have just had it out with Saturn enabling us to see what needed to go and give us the strength and stamina to move mountains and get the job done. Saturn may have also had us feeling blocked, delayed or frustrated for whatever reason or it could be that there was an issue with a parent, boss or authority figure or even with you as the parent or authority.  Maybe we have been working very hard lately for long term goals or results with little appreciation or compensation. While all of this hard work wasn’t so immediately gratifying, we should start seeing the results or reaping some rewards soon enough.  The New Moon Solar Eclipse in the fertile sign of Taurus will see to the growth of the new seeds we are planting. Taurus is an Earth sign and ruled by Venus, the Goddess of beauty and love. We may literally be getting our hands in the earth and planting seeds. It’s the perfect time to spend in natural surrounds and revel in Mother Nature.  With Pallas in such close aspect, it is very favorable for healing Mother Earth as well as beautifying the landscape.   Pallas in Taurus could also highlight issues with plant based medicine, as well as healing through touch and massage.  We’ll also be getting some help from Mars and Mercury at this Eclipse. While they met up on the 7th-8th,    having our thoughts and actions  in sync on practical matters,  getting things done and ‘handling the baggage’ as indicated by the Sabian Symbol.  At this time, we are concerned with how we are making our lives more secure and enjoyable, our relationships more relate-able and our surroundings more beautiful.  Taurus is a material sign and wants to be comfortable and to have a quality of life, not just earn a paycheck.  This eclipse could help us to come up with practical plans that are bound to last.  Taurus carries on and is unwavering and solid but also slow to move and doesn’t want to give anything up or change easily (that includes possessions, relationships, ideas etc.). With the help of Mercury keeping our ideas grounded, they able to take form as Mars gives us the energy to push on, keep at it and ‘make it happen’.  A Solar Eclipse indicates new beginnings but the South Node is close to this eclipse which is karmic and rooted in the past.  The Scorpio Lunar eclipse on April 25 was about letting go and it could be that we are made aware of what ruts we get stuck in and why.  And we may actually be able to do something about it!  Finally!  We may be able to shake lose what mental ruts or thought patterns that seemed to be permanent and go on forever.  We may be able to use some of our practical gifts, talents or lessons from the past to make something new that we like and that will last as well as provide us with more comfort, security and enjoyment.   We could even be transforming old structures or recycling and making something new (and pretty!).    Pluto and Ceres also go head to head at this eclipse possibly providing a turning point with obsessions and intensity in regard to parenting, child rearing, family / clan issues; parent/child complexes – especially with issues of attachment and separation  and ‘mother love’ vs. self-love as well as issues of nurturing and nutrition.

This New Moon Solar Eclipse is at 19’31” Taurus.  The Sabian Symbol is “Wisps of clouds, like wings are streaming across the sky”.   We are able to see things from a higher perspective and have become aware of where we may need to change course.  Pallas is in the same degree as this eclipse giving us a broader perspective, enabling us to get the bigger picture, she further helps us in problem solving, trouble shooting and planning.  It seems that after the removal of the decay, we are left with very fertile ground at this eclipse.  Whatever we do now seems to be practical, sustaining and long lasting so make sure it is what you want!
