Virgo Full Moon

11 Mar

virgoAt this Full Moon in Virgo we could see the culmination of job situation or work project, or perhaps there is an issue with a co-worker, employee, hired hand or apprentice that comes to a head now.  We could also see a health issue come to light or a turning point with a health issue we’ve been dealing with.  It may even be a good time to find the right healer for you.  Matters of health, health care and healing are highlighted at this time including mental health.

Virgo is a sign associated with our everyday lives; our routines, the chores the paperwork, getting clean and organized, establishing healthy routines with diet and exercise, being efficient and skillful, handling all the details and making sure life runs smoothly.  The thing is, at this Full Moon, we still have quite a bit of energy across the sky in other worldly Pisces which can make us feel overwhelmed and inept at managing our mundane lives as it may be in striking contrast to our high ideals and grand visions.  There can be a sense of depression, negative thinking and self-defeatist attitudes creating the feeling of wanting to run, hide and reach for a bottle of Fukitol.

Mercury the ruler of Virgo is also in Pisces; clouding our minds and confusing our communications.  Or perhaps we want to dream the day away or to just retreat into silence and not have to communicate at all. The brain fog will life when Mercury makes his way into Aries just one day after this Full Moon and we may be more inclined to initiate a conversation or to come up with a plan of action then.

This Full Moon is in a harsh aspect to Task Master Saturn slapping us with a big dose of Reality and a need to face things with maturity. There is a lot of work, loads of responsibility and accountability, big obstacles, limited opportunity and growth and a need to conserve.   We’ll need to muster up some more patience and perseverance and to focus on the things that really matter.

There is a lot of tension surrounding this Full Moon but it’s not completely hopeless. Virgo is a sign known for having powers of discernment. Virgo is a good problem solver because of it’s need for perfection, it can see what is wrong in a situation and how to correct it.  This Full Moon may shed some light on just where we’ve gone wrong and what steps we need to take. We may be able to sort things out and make sense of things in a way that is useful, practical and helpful.

Some of the seeds planted near the New Moon Solar Eclipse back in September may also reach fruition now.

It is also possible that this Full Moon could shed light on some of the programming that we’ve organized our lives around and we’ll have to discern what is valid and useful in furthering our goals and what is just causing stress by worrying over all our imperfections.

We also have Chiron and Pallas conjunct in Pisces so this could be a very healing time though not without a few distressing moments.  We may be able to perceive subtleties, undercurrents and the interconnections to a situation; and see where we’ve made mistakes or hurt ourselves or what is causing our pain and what is the way through and the next step.  In terms of alternative healing this is a very good placement.

The opposition between Jupiter in Libra and Uranus in Aries also connects with the Sun and the Moon creating tension and a need for adjustments.  As we are correcting imbalances and bringing things into alignment, there may be a period of adjustment and maybe symptoms or side effects.  Watch side effects of medications too.  On another level, this can put a strain on relationships and agreements and we may be walking a fine line between asserting our independence and freedom and making compromises.

Meanwhile, Venus is retrograde in Aries until April 15th.  The goddess of beauty and love, has gone into the underworld in the sign of the warrior creating a passive- aggressive, push-pull vibe.  There’s anger and irritation regarding others. This is a time to re-evaluate and perhaps renegotiate as you consider what you’re putting into and getting out of some agreements and relationships or situations involving co-dependence/independence/inter-dependence and your interactions with others.

The good news is that Jupiter in Libra also wants relationships and agreements that are meaningful or beneficial to all parties, and in alignment with our Truth.

More good news! Mars and Venus are now in Mutual Reception or having a favorable exchange of energies and able to work together. Mars is now in the earliest degrees of Taurus lending us endurance and enabling us to make sustained efforts.  We are motivated to establish something tangible and of value; moving forward one step at a time, one foot in front of the other.  If we started to feel our energies burning out while Mars was in the last degrees of Aries, this can aid us in steadying out a bit.

Blessings to ALL at this Full Moon!

Pisces Solar Eclipse

18 Feb

waves-and-lighteningThere is so much happening during this block of time February 20th through the first week of March, that if it is at all possible, give yourself some space and room to breathe and open yourself to change and revitalization.

Many celestial bodies are gathered in Pisces for this New Moon Solar Eclipse on February 26th; The Sun, Moon, Mercury, The South Node, Pallas and Chiron are all positioned in Pisces right now. Emotions and sensitivity, including psychic sensitivity will be heightened now. We could feel hopeless, helpless or victimized or alternatively, creative, inspired and connected to something much larger than ourselves; perhaps somewhere in between or all of the above.

With so much energy in watery Pisces, liquids and Water itself will be important or featured in some way.  This may involve our oceans, the tides, marine life, floods or the quality, availability or protection of drinking water. Flint Michigan, Standing Rock and Fukashima come to mind as just a few examples.

Mercury has just moved into Pisces so our mental faculties may not be so sharp but our sixth sense may be in full force. It’s possible now to know something without knowing how you know it; perceiving images and feelings.  Of course, it’s also possible that contracts have information missing or omitted or you could be confused or misled by something someone says.  Perhaps there is someone trying to deceive you or maybe you are the one using colorful language to avoid, escape or deceive.

This is a South Node Eclipse linking it to the past, suggesting that there are still some issues to be dealt with but it is also a New Moon Solar Eclipse indicating fertile ground for the future and a new beginning.

Eclipses are very significant in Astrology and have a way of speeding up events.  It’s the way the Universe accelerates our growth and puts us on path.  Sometimes it’s a bit messy at first.  All this Pisces energy points to a need to go with the flow.  All will not be clear just yet.

Things will be very unpredictable now as Mars in Aries squares off with powerful Pluto just days before this Eclipse; and at the time of this Eclipse, Mars is conjunct Uranus in Aries and opposite Jupiter in Libra. Changes, volatility and excitement fills the air.  Things are speeding up and changing at a very rapid pace and it will be difficult to determine which direction things are taking.  This is a very unstable influence yet it can also be exciting, thrilling and full of surprises.   Use caution when driving or operating machinery.

We could see break-throughs and break-downs where relationships and agreements are concerned.  There could be new friends or new groups, new technology, innovation and experimentation.  Perhaps there is a change of direction, erratic or unexpected actions and unusual alliances.  Deals and decisions may be made or broken now.  There could be ruptures, breaks and leaks.

This aspect of Jupiter opposite Uranus first formed at the end of 2016.  This is an aspect of social change, justice and revolution; and we’ve seen the rise of different social groups and causes fighting for Peace, Equality, a fair shake or share or to be heard and included.  There is also a new movement that’s formed as well as a growing opposition to this. Now Mars enters the picture and energizes or antagonizes this pattern.    We could see violence or volatility associated with any of these groups now.  It’s also possible that we see a new group or faction come into focus now.    This could be a very contentious time with confrontations difficult to avoid.

On another level, there is a stirring and swiftness to a great awakening that is taking place.  There is a new vibration or frequency that is pushing to bring things into alignment with Natural Law.

Jupiter in Libra is now retrograde for the next several months giving us the opportunity to backtrack, review and re-evaluate some of our agreements, relationships, decisions or laws.  We must weigh whether situations are in alignment with the Truth of who we are.  Some deals and decisions may need to be re-thought due to not being fair or ethical or on a more personal level, if something just doesn’t feel right to us.

Saturn, the Manifestor of 3-D reality is linked up to the Galactic Center for the first time in nearly three decades!  The Galactic Center is like the Sun of our Sun which divine wisdom and guidance is said to pour through.  This could be a very powerful time to give form to something with the inspiration coming straight from the center of the galaxy!  Pay attention now to your intuition. Manifestations are happening quickly now and it is especially critical to be conscious of what exactly we are creating at this time. This is our responsibility.

Saturn has been touring Sagittarius now since late 2014.  During this time, we have learned some big lessons, dealt with some major obstacles and setbacks, increased our responsibilities, discipline or accountability, our growth or progress has been slowed, our faith tested, our enthusiasm curbed; there has been a whole lot of adulting going on.  At the same time, we’ve been growing in experience and expertise and slowing down enough to really get the meaning of an experience.  Saturn still has more of his tough love to give and will move from this placement later this year.

Venus is currently in Aries and is the ruler of Libra. Peace loving Venus doesn’t feel quite comfortable in Aggressive Aries; and she is just one degree from the place she will retrograde just days after this Eclipse.  Venus will retrograde March 4th through April 15th. This suggests a re-evaluation of our motivations is in order and wanting or doing what is in our own best interests.  We may see some friction in our relationships or going back and forth in negotiations with no one wanting to make compromises or concessions in trying to come up with an agreement or arrangement that will work for all and it will be a struggle to strike a balance.

Venus is a planet that’s associated with art, beauty and design so if you are doing creative work, you may back pedal out of some of your choices and decisions.  It may also be that things must be roughed up, requiring some muscle or torn apart before we get to the beautiful result that we desire.

On another level, Venus Rx is not a good time to change your looks with a new hairstyle, clothes or cosmetic surgery. Buying and selling is also not advisable as you may pay too much for an item only for it to go on sale later. Or you could get a lower priced offer on something you are selling.  It is also not an ideal time to get married or to begin a new relationship.  Relationships from the past can also re-enter our scene when Venus is Rx.

Blessings to All at this New Moon Solar Eclipse!

Sagittarius New Moon

23 Nov

space-doorwayThis New Moon on November 29th is in the sign of Sagittarius, the Seeker of Truth and Wisdom. Sagittarius is on a journey to explore, discover and encounter new worlds, new ideas and beliefs and new ways of life. Sag takes the high road and has faith and optimism about the future; and who couldn’t use a dose of that these days? On the flip side, Sagittarius can be too moralistic, preachy, self-righteous and judgmental.
These are some of the areas where the ground is fertile now; where new seeds may be planted. For some time now, we’ve had the task master Saturn in Sagittarius which has the effect of curbing our enthusiasm, slowing our growth, increasing responsibilities, testing our faith and limiting opportunities in order to narrow our options and focus. Yeah I know Saturn is all business and seems like no fun but there are valuable lessons here. Saturn is a bit far from this New Moon but we still feel his presence. In another way, Saturn in Sagittarius can have us viewing things from a limited world view. Saturn is also associated with reality or at least the 3D reality so Saturn’s transit through Sagittarius is also about recognizing which beliefs shape our reality. The Sabian Symbol for this New Moon reads, “rocks and things forming therein” this suggests that there are shifts happening and things going on under the surface before manifestation and co-creation.
Juno is very close to this New Moon highlighting relationships, agreements and shared beliefs

Emancipate yourself from mental slavery none but ourselves can free our minds..

This New Moon is square to Neptune and the Nodal axis making this a pivotal time as we are at a crossroads now; somewhat caught between the past and the future and at a defining moment especially where our beliefs, our faith, our sense of knowing, our judgement, ethics and sense of right and wrong are concerned. These are all in Mutable signs so things are in a state of transition; there’s fluidity or changeability. With Neptune in Pisces involved, things are unclear, there is confusion and all is not as it seems. We may even find that the Truth is stranger than fiction. We may feel as if one door has closed but we’ve yet to walk through the new door and we’re hanging out in the spaces in between. The Nodal axis in Virgo and Pisces asks that we also use our intuition in a way that is practical, useful and integrate our spiritual life into our everyday lives, to find meaning, truth and purpose and to learn to listen to our higher guidance, intuition and knowing. The thing is, with Neptune so close, the lines are really blurred. We are being challenged to use discernment, let go of illusions and lies, learn from our mistakes and to course correct for the future.
On another level, at the Sagittarius New Moon, we could see beginings in situations involving legal issues, higher education, publishing, broadcasting or advertising come up now.

There is no political solution
to our troubled evolution
Have no faith in constitution
There is no bloody revolution
We are Spirits in the material world….

Jupiter, the ruler of Sagittarius, is in Libra increasing the importance of relationships, equality and agreements. It’s becoming increasingly obvious that we need others; we have to live with, work with, tolerate, cooperate and partner up with others and we have to make arrangements that work for all because we’re all in this together. Jupiter is approaching a square to Pluto which will be exact on the 24th, Thanksgiving Day here in the U.S. This can make for a contentious holiday since people may have strong opinions and beliefs, thinking their way is the best and only way and may try to change or challenge others. There are also major changes in store where it concerns our structures, government, rules and authority. There is an increasing opposition challenging consolidation of power and pushing reform.
This can mean the actual tearing down or rebuilding, rehabbing or remodeling of an actual structure or even earth movements and geological changes as in earthquakes, sink holes and aftershocks.

Rise up and take the power back
it’s time the fat cats had a heart attack
you know their time is coming to an end
time to unify and watch a flag ascend

This is an aspect that will shape much of 2017. I will be talking more about this and you can read some of my thoughts about this in a previous post http://www.spellboundastrology.com/single-post/2016/11/12/Taurus-Super-Moon

You can also read more on Jupiter in Libra http://www.spellboundastrology.com/single-post/2016/09/09/Jupiter-Enters-Libra
Venus, the ruler of Libra, is now in cautious Capricorn and square Uranus in Aries. It may be that the restraint or reserve we’ve shown recently in matters of love or money may be challenged or stimulated by surprises, fluctuations or instability.
New Moon Blessings to ALL and Happy Thanksgiving!

Pisces New Moon Solar Eclipse

5 Mar

big waveMarch is set to be an eventful month with a Solar Eclipse on March 8th, a rare alignment of Jupiter and Pluto on March 16th, and the Lunar Eclipse on March 23rd. Eclipses are a big deal in Astrology and they pack a lot of power.  They seem to accelerate events; it’s the way that the Universe puts us on path and in alignment and often it may seem quite sudden as life seems to change and speed up. This is a Solar Eclipse.  Normally a New Moon Solar Eclipse is associated with beginnings and would have us planting our seeds for the future but this one is very much tied to the past.  There is a lot that needs to be reconciled and let go of.  It is a time to wash away and to purify.

A Solar Eclipse has the power of several New Moons and the effects can last at least six months to a year; sometimes longer.  Some of us may already be feeling the changes.  At the time of this Solar Eclipse in Pisces, the sky is saturated with emotional energies.  There are seven heavenly bodies in Pisces, the sign associated with the mystic and mysterious, the unconscious and the unseen.

In addition to the Solar Eclipse (Sun and Moon) in Pisces, we also have Mercury so our minds may not be clear, information could be missing or there could be outright lies and deception or it may be that you have only to rely on intuition as logic is in short supply now. Ceres is also in Pisces asking us to nurture ourselves and each other with compassion, to acknowledge and accept ALL parts of oneself, Chiron and the South Node are helping us to heal our wounds of the long ago past so that we can experience a turning point and Neptune is dissolving all of the boundaries making us aware that we are all in this together.

Sensitivity and spirituality is heightened now and you could easily tune into other realms. We may be feeling quite reflective spending time day dreaming, visualizing or in meditation. For some there could be feelings of sadness, hopelessness, loss, grief or guilt. Don’t despair; it’s part of the process. You could be flooded with images from long ago, feeling as if you want to give up or escape and experience the freedom of surrender.  Some may feel adrift, confused or just spaced out. On another level, this could also be a great time for creating with art, music, film or photography; really any and all of the arts or for getting out into nature and peaceful surroundings.

Jupiter in Vigo is across the sky exactly opposite this Solar Eclipse; making things seem larger than life. We could feel overwhelmed and overtaken by a tidal wave of emotions and/or visions and inspirations. Jupiter in Virgo can be very discriminating and this could be very helpful now in cutting through any confusion, deceit or erroneous perceptions. We’ll need to turn inward to see what is true for us and we may find that some beliefs that we’ve organized our lives around aren’t really true for us.  We need to become aware of how those beliefs are affecting our daily lives and we may learn the truth of things that we have been in the dark about and unaware of.  There is a bit of a reckoning between truth vs. fiction. We are now able to move beyond some of those beliefs that have kept us insecure or feeling inferior, to let them go, forgive ourselves (and others) of our mistakes or sins and to have the wisdom and courage not to repeat them or to fall victim.  Addicts, addictions and the serenity prayer come to mind now.

On another level, if we are feeling overwhelmed at the enormity of some creative project or vision, Jupiter can also help us sort through and organize everything, knowing what needs to be done and just how to do it with the most efficiency.

Saturn in Sagittarius is in a harsh angle to this Eclipse challenging us to be disciplined, limit any excesses and cautioning us not to overdo it.  This may also be helpful in assessing what is real, what is important, and what is necessary or a priority as well.  There could be a test of faith or judgment or a challenge to our assumptions or opinions.  It could also be that there are increased responsibilities or schedule deadlines that pose a challenge.  Any way you look at it, there seems to be a lot of work that needs to be done whether it’s in the material world or on a more inner level; most likely it’s both.

Pluto in Capricorn makes a favorable aspect to this Eclipse giving the power to eliminate barriers and obstacles. We are in a process of restructuring, rebuilding and/or recycling.  It could be that there is a powerful authority figure that plays a role now such as a boss or a father possibly helping from behind the scenes.

Jupiter in Virgo is quincunx Uranus in Aries suggesting that by improving our process and systems we can break free and initiate changes.  On an inner level if we can make adjustments and move beyond some of the beliefs we’ve organized our lives around that may not be our truth, we have the power to break free from the things that have held us back for so long.  Again, this all depends on our willingness to initiate changes and efforts to work on it but the energies are supportive of releasing the past.

Mars is in the early degrees of Sagittarius where he’ll remain for quite some time, now our efforts are aimed at getting to the truth and we may even be willing to fight for it. We at least want freedom of action now or to pursue things that are meaningful to us.   We want to be better and to do better. We may feel enthusiastic and full of energy.  That’s a good thing because there is much to be done.  Try to get most of it done before Mars goes retrograde April 17th; the energy won’t be as robust then. It’s a great time to be outdoors, for doing physical work or playing sports.  Just know your limits.

A few other things I want to mention in relation to this Eclipse. There is so much energy concentrated in watery Pisces; we could see water itself become an issue.  It may have to do with floods, oceans, tides or marine life or it may even be about the quality or availability of water.   Flint Michigan comes to mind.  I think we may also see more on the topics of the healthcare system, hospitals, care for the mentally ill or those battling addiction, and also with our prison system.

Lastly, I want to mention the role of Ceres in this Eclipse because I think it’s important.  Ceres is the Goddess of Grain, giving her rulership over agriculture and crops.  In my last entry, I mentioned the implications of pesticides and their possible effects as well as the GMO’s and the labeling of food becoming more of a mainstream topic.  There was a quick mention on a network news channel about the FDA investigating the effects.  Meanwhile there is a bill in the works now (it may have just passed already) in addition to the DARK act. The energies clearly illustrate this.  Basically, there are powerful companies trying to block our right to know what is in our food and where it comes from.  Many of these chemicals are banned in other countries yet legal here and “They” think we don’t even have the right to know about it.  They also think that they shouldn’t be held accountable for any effects or illnesses caused by these toxic chemicals. You can read more about it below if you’d like.  Food for thought and I suppose we ALL should give more thought to our food.

Blessings to ALL at this New Moon Solar Eclipse! May the Stars always shine upon YOU!

“If you thought Congress couldn’t get any more corrupt, we’re going to have to ask you to sit down when you read this. When we woke up yesterday morning, we almost fell over when we read a New York Times front-page story about how Monsanto received extra legal protection from the House of Representatives last year when it passed a bill to update the 40-year-old Toxic Substance Control Act (TSCA), which leaves millions of Americans vulnerable everyday to more than 1,000 hazardous chemicals still in sale across the country.

In the process of writing this bill, an unknown member of the House of Representatives slipped a one-paragraph provision in the TSCA bill that exempts Monsanto from ALL financial liability from lawsuits and financial settlements sought for PCB contamination and cleanup sites.

This is essentially a Get-out-of-Jail-Free card for Monsanto, exempting them from BILLIONS of dollars of legal liability from lawsuits for damages which have been filed in several major cities, including Seattle and San Diego and a lawsuit filed last year from individuals seeking damages for diagnoses of a form of cancer known as non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.

The St. Louis-based chemical and biotech seed giant is now claiming they “had nothing to do” with this new “Monsanto Clause”, even though Monsanto was the only company that made this toxic chemical.

According to the New York Times, “the provision does not mention the company by name, but between the early 1930s and 1977, Monsanto manufactured almost all of the 1.25 billion pounds of PCBs sold in the United States.”

That’s right, a member of Congress intentionally slipped in a provision to protect Monsanto’s toxic profits over those of individuals with cancer and major U.S. cities seeking millions in legal fees for cleaning up the cancer-causing PCBs, which are now pervasive in the environment.

Now, Monsanto is seeking extra legal protection from the Senate so it can continue to deny America’s their basic right to know what’s in their food by making state GMO labeling laws illegal.

Now Monsanto Seeks Special Legal Protection from State GMO Labeling Laws!

Today, at 10 am EST, the Senate Agriculture Committee is expected to vote to outlaw state GMO labeling laws in order to give extra legal protection for Monsanto and the biotech industry once again and we can’t let them get away with it!

Right now, Monsanto and the Grocery Manufacturers Association (GMA) are desperate to try to prevent the state of Vermont’s GMO labeling law from going into effect on July 1st of this year and your Senator could go along with it! Last summer the House passed a similar Dark Act bill by a vote of 275 to 150 and we can’t let the Senate pass this outrageous bill!

We need to make sure they hear – Loud and Clear – that we won’t allow them to steal our basic democratic rights to protect Monsanto’s toxic profits.”

Water Grand Trine

19 Jul

While thinking about this Water Grand Trine between Jupiter in Cancer, Saturn in Scorpio and Neptune in Pisces, the issue of race came to mind. It’s a hot topic lately here in the U.S. especially after the Trayvon Martin verdict. Cancer rules over things like race, lineage, our roots, etc.  The law, courts and legal decisions fall under the realm of Jupiter as well as our sense of right and wrong. The issue of race has also made the news recently with the Paula Dean scandal and also with a Cheerios commercial a few weeks back that featured a bi-racial family that ‘offended’ people.  It seems that we need to explore this taboo subject and break down the fears and barriers and realize that we are all connected. We are one race, the human race.  Sure there are differences among us that may be specific to particular groups but so what? That’s what adds a little flavor and variety to life. Why do minor differences divide us?  We should be able to acknowledge differences without out it causing hate. No one really wants to have an honest talk about it. Why is it black or white? Why does one group have to blame or play victim to the other? It seems that the Universe is conspiring to have us honestly acknowledge the subject of race and cultural lineage and differences along with some of our beliefs, assumptions and prejudices in this regard.  Mars will conjunct Jupiter and move into this Water Grand Trine on July 20th  possibly bringing all of this water energy to a boil with emotions and anger as people try to assert their own ideologies, opinions and beliefs.  There is also another Grand Trine between Mercury in Cancer, The North Node in Scorpio, and Chiron in Pisces.  This could indicate that healing could come by having these emotional conversations that are critical in order to birth a new path and destiny. We also still have the ongoing square between Uranus and Pluto causing social unrest and upheaval around the world until 2015. These planets met up in a conjunction in the late sixties.  During that time, here in America, there was a lot of racial tension and Martin Luther King Jr. was killed during that period.  It appears that this theme is upon us once again.  So what are we going to do about it?  Can we ever get beyond the issue of race?
