The Great American Eclipse in Leo

18 Aug

mermaid moonThe Solar Eclipse in Leo on August 21st has been nicknamed, The Great American Eclipse due to the path of totality diagonally across the U.S.  It is the thought of Astrologers that the path of the eclipse is an area, geographically, that is most influenced by the eclipse energies.  This Eclipse marks a considerable time that may have some bearing on shaping the events and history of the U.S. and falls very close to a sensitive point in the chart of the U.S president.

All the world is a stage and we are all watching.

So, what does that mean to you?

Eclipses are a big deal in astrology.  Energy spikes during the weeks surrounding the eclipses; time and events seem to accelerate.  Eclipses are the Universe’s way of getting us on path.  Those with planets or points in 26-29 degrees will be activated by this Eclipse but those in the fixed signs, Leo, Aquarius, Taurus or Scorpio will feel this the most.

A Solar Eclipse is also a New Moon, a pumped up and powerful New Moon, a seeding time of new beginnings. It’s also a North Node Eclipse pointing the way far into our future but it’s not an isolated incident, Astrology shows us the cyclical nature of Life and the Universe and this Eclipse is also related to an Eclipse in the same degree back in August of 1998. You can reflect on your life back then and see if a similar theme presents.

The Universe is dishing out a double dose of Leo lessons; this is the second Leo New Moon in a row and it’s a Solar Eclipse.  Rawr!

The Sabian Symbol for the Eclipse degree reads, “A mermaid emerges from the ocean waves, ready for rebirth in human form”.  This symbol implies that there is something coming from deep within the unconscious, taking shape, but you may not yet be totally aware of what it is.  It’s as if there’s been a pause, awaiting and expectation of something coming into being.

The Universe is schooling us on things like ego, pride, self-confidence, leadership, loyalty, follow-through and taking risks.  We’ve had a lot of the Leo energies these days giving us the opportunity to get in touch with our inner essence and our central nature. This second New Moon Solar Eclipse is a rare and powerful opportunity to co-create what it is that’s in your heart.  There may have been issues coming into awareness, getting your attention, teaching you the difference between what is truly you and yours and something that’s been assigned, labeled or inherited by family or society. These energies are prompting you to get in touch with doing the things that you’re most passionate about, that give you joy and pleasure whether or not you receive recognition or approval and to Just do you.

Mars in Leo continues to stoke the flames of creativity, passion, drama, flash and show or perhaps even the angry inner child.  Mars has a positive link with Jupiter in Libra and connects favorably with Saturn in Sagittarius suggesting that your creative initiatives and heart felt actions can create opportunities for collaborative efforts, to improve relations or move beyond them, readily using an abundance of caution, focus, concentration, discipline and some serious honesty and maturity.  You may have gained experience and wisdom and by now you know a thing or two about a thing or two. Use that.  Saturn will turn direct just a few days after this Eclipse on August 25th and you can start to move forward on some of your goals and ambitions.

Uranus in fellow fire sign Aries is in a favorable aspect to this Eclipse and things are moving fast and changing quickly.  There is a buzz of excitement and element of surprise and unpredictability.  You may be able to liberate your creative genius or take a quantum leap in developing your talents, abilities and self-mastery.  There’s a new vibration or frequency enabling a blossoming of your personal power. You could be asserting your independence and expression of your emotions.  You might also enjoy new friends or groups centered around children, play or creativity or some other cause or movement that tugs at your heart.

The Wounded Healer, Chiron in Pisces also sends some vibes to this Eclipse suggesting a needed shift of any arrogance and self-importance to humility and compassion without minimizing yourself. It may be time to make some character adjustments surrendering those injured parts, weaknesses and mistakes.  There’s no need to let those things keep you small and from realizing your potential. These lessons help to yield a self that is more vital, warm, confident and radiant.

Ceres in Cancer is opposite Pluto in Capricorn creating a face-off between our nurturing needs, sense of belonging, nostalgia, security and things that are familiar with the trust, betrayal and/or abuse of authority and the fundamental make-over that’s been underway.  On another level, there may be matters dealing with women’s issues, child rearing and early education or our food that’s bumping heads with the powers that be or topics dealing with the workforce and rules and regulations.

Blessings and Good Vibes to ALL at this Spectacular Solar Eclipse!

Pisces Solar Eclipse

18 Feb

waves-and-lighteningThere is so much happening during this block of time February 20th through the first week of March, that if it is at all possible, give yourself some space and room to breathe and open yourself to change and revitalization.

Many celestial bodies are gathered in Pisces for this New Moon Solar Eclipse on February 26th; The Sun, Moon, Mercury, The South Node, Pallas and Chiron are all positioned in Pisces right now. Emotions and sensitivity, including psychic sensitivity will be heightened now. We could feel hopeless, helpless or victimized or alternatively, creative, inspired and connected to something much larger than ourselves; perhaps somewhere in between or all of the above.

With so much energy in watery Pisces, liquids and Water itself will be important or featured in some way.  This may involve our oceans, the tides, marine life, floods or the quality, availability or protection of drinking water. Flint Michigan, Standing Rock and Fukashima come to mind as just a few examples.

Mercury has just moved into Pisces so our mental faculties may not be so sharp but our sixth sense may be in full force. It’s possible now to know something without knowing how you know it; perceiving images and feelings.  Of course, it’s also possible that contracts have information missing or omitted or you could be confused or misled by something someone says.  Perhaps there is someone trying to deceive you or maybe you are the one using colorful language to avoid, escape or deceive.

This is a South Node Eclipse linking it to the past, suggesting that there are still some issues to be dealt with but it is also a New Moon Solar Eclipse indicating fertile ground for the future and a new beginning.

Eclipses are very significant in Astrology and have a way of speeding up events.  It’s the way the Universe accelerates our growth and puts us on path.  Sometimes it’s a bit messy at first.  All this Pisces energy points to a need to go with the flow.  All will not be clear just yet.

Things will be very unpredictable now as Mars in Aries squares off with powerful Pluto just days before this Eclipse; and at the time of this Eclipse, Mars is conjunct Uranus in Aries and opposite Jupiter in Libra. Changes, volatility and excitement fills the air.  Things are speeding up and changing at a very rapid pace and it will be difficult to determine which direction things are taking.  This is a very unstable influence yet it can also be exciting, thrilling and full of surprises.   Use caution when driving or operating machinery.

We could see break-throughs and break-downs where relationships and agreements are concerned.  There could be new friends or new groups, new technology, innovation and experimentation.  Perhaps there is a change of direction, erratic or unexpected actions and unusual alliances.  Deals and decisions may be made or broken now.  There could be ruptures, breaks and leaks.

This aspect of Jupiter opposite Uranus first formed at the end of 2016.  This is an aspect of social change, justice and revolution; and we’ve seen the rise of different social groups and causes fighting for Peace, Equality, a fair shake or share or to be heard and included.  There is also a new movement that’s formed as well as a growing opposition to this. Now Mars enters the picture and energizes or antagonizes this pattern.    We could see violence or volatility associated with any of these groups now.  It’s also possible that we see a new group or faction come into focus now.    This could be a very contentious time with confrontations difficult to avoid.

On another level, there is a stirring and swiftness to a great awakening that is taking place.  There is a new vibration or frequency that is pushing to bring things into alignment with Natural Law.

Jupiter in Libra is now retrograde for the next several months giving us the opportunity to backtrack, review and re-evaluate some of our agreements, relationships, decisions or laws.  We must weigh whether situations are in alignment with the Truth of who we are.  Some deals and decisions may need to be re-thought due to not being fair or ethical or on a more personal level, if something just doesn’t feel right to us.

Saturn, the Manifestor of 3-D reality is linked up to the Galactic Center for the first time in nearly three decades!  The Galactic Center is like the Sun of our Sun which divine wisdom and guidance is said to pour through.  This could be a very powerful time to give form to something with the inspiration coming straight from the center of the galaxy!  Pay attention now to your intuition. Manifestations are happening quickly now and it is especially critical to be conscious of what exactly we are creating at this time. This is our responsibility.

Saturn has been touring Sagittarius now since late 2014.  During this time, we have learned some big lessons, dealt with some major obstacles and setbacks, increased our responsibilities, discipline or accountability, our growth or progress has been slowed, our faith tested, our enthusiasm curbed; there has been a whole lot of adulting going on.  At the same time, we’ve been growing in experience and expertise and slowing down enough to really get the meaning of an experience.  Saturn still has more of his tough love to give and will move from this placement later this year.

Venus is currently in Aries and is the ruler of Libra. Peace loving Venus doesn’t feel quite comfortable in Aggressive Aries; and she is just one degree from the place she will retrograde just days after this Eclipse.  Venus will retrograde March 4th through April 15th. This suggests a re-evaluation of our motivations is in order and wanting or doing what is in our own best interests.  We may see some friction in our relationships or going back and forth in negotiations with no one wanting to make compromises or concessions in trying to come up with an agreement or arrangement that will work for all and it will be a struggle to strike a balance.

Venus is a planet that’s associated with art, beauty and design so if you are doing creative work, you may back pedal out of some of your choices and decisions.  It may also be that things must be roughed up, requiring some muscle or torn apart before we get to the beautiful result that we desire.

On another level, Venus Rx is not a good time to change your looks with a new hairstyle, clothes or cosmetic surgery. Buying and selling is also not advisable as you may pay too much for an item only for it to go on sale later. Or you could get a lower priced offer on something you are selling.  It is also not an ideal time to get married or to begin a new relationship.  Relationships from the past can also re-enter our scene when Venus is Rx.

Blessings to All at this New Moon Solar Eclipse!

Virgo Solar Eclipse

26 Aug

energyshift1

September starts off with a New Moon Solar Eclipse in Virgo.  Eclipses are very significant in Astrology and can bring important changes that seem to come suddenly or surprisingly.  Time and events seem to speed up during Eclipse season.  Knowing which part of your chart is activated by the Eclipses will give clues as to what area of your life is being energized and transformed.  This is a New Moon Solar Eclipse, a time of new beginnings.  For many of us, the New Moon is a time to seed our intentions out into the Universe and a Solar Eclipse puts a lot of power behind them.  It’s an extra powerful New Moon that reaches far into the future since it is also a North Node Eclipse.

Virgo is in charge of our our everyday affairs; how we take care of ourselves, our health, our healers and doctors, our diets, exercise as well as our work, our daily routines and chores and how we order our lives.  Virgo and the 6th house get the label of “mundane” but really, isn’t this just life??  It will be with these matters that we are to seed a new cycle.

This lunation finds itself in the ongoing tension between Saturn and Neptune.  While Saturn represents our boundaries and limits, Neptune has none.  Saturn represents structure and what we call reality and Neptune has been blurring the lines all year long.

What is real and what is an illusion?

During this time our faith has been tested, we’ve had to get at the truth – our own truth, or get real on some issue, to be accountable, to discover what success means to us personally but also to go for our dreams.  That’s the thing, though these two energies are so very different, they need each other.  We can manifest our visions and deepest dreams.  Dreaming it into being.  We may have also needed to sort through our illusions and fears and there’s a lot coming to the surface to confront and deal with. Most of us are straddling amid these two energies.  It may go something like this:  at times feeling high on life’s possibilities and then overwhelmed with responsibilities, details and the sheer amount of work that lies ahead, being all too aware of our shortcomings wondering if you can measure up or make it happen then wanting to escape or to go back to old familiar ways. Or some version of this.  Go ahead and write your own story there.  Mars in Sagittarius is still close enough and continues to energize this pattern– pushing for freedom and honesty.

The good thing is that we’ve had help from Jupiter in Virgo all year giving our powers of discernment a boost and assisting us in moving beyond unproductive programming.  We can be aware of our shortcomings and flaws without letting it unravel us. Jupiter will move on to Libra on September 9th and won’t return to Virgo for twelve years.  There’s that number 9 again!  The ninth day of the ninth month in a nine year.

Number nine number nine number nine number nine number nine number nine number nine…

Recalibrating our perception

According to “The Zodiac by Degrees- 360 New Symbols” by Martin Goldsmith, the Sabian Symbol for this Solar Eclipse at 9 degrees Virgo reads,

“Balancing on a high rocky outcropping, a master surveyor argues with his apprentice about what they are actually seeing. Pulling the apprentice to his own position, the master surveyor hands him a pair of binoculars”

This suggests the need and/or ability to see things differently. Perception creates reality and here we’re given the opportunity to be the co-creators of our lives. Yay!  But scary too huh? Be mindful of your thoughts.  This is hard work and takes practice and integration into our everyday lives. What will you manifest?

Pluto in Capricorn is in a supportive aspect to this lunation allowing a reformation of structures.

Mercury, the ruler of this Eclipse has just gone retrograde in his own sign of Virgo just two days before this Eclipse.  This suggests back tracking and covering old ground.  This may be with health issues, matters with work, co-workers or employees, an apprentice or handyman; maybe there is a need to re-organize or re-do something.  Reprogramming perhaps??

Mercury Rx and Jupiter are also paired up giving us a broad overview and seeing how everything fits together.  We’ve been problem solving and troubleshooting and may finally have some solutions. It’s like before his departure, Jupiter bestows the wisdom he’s gathered during his stay in Virgo on to Mercury Rx so he can re-organize.

Chiron in Pisces is across the sky allowing for an awareness, confrontation and integration with some of our deeper wounds, our flawed parts. You know, that one thing that’s always lurking in the background ready to trip you up?  Yeah that.  Perhaps there’s an unknown or misdiagnosed illness or something illusive that you couldn’t quite pin down. There could now be health questions, answers, solutions and forms; there may be conversations reiterating, retelling of symptoms, effects, allergies and complaints. There could be re-checking and researching information or for the right doctor or healer or perhaps a plan or program of treatment.

May the Stars shine upon YOU and bless your life with health and happiness at this Virgo Solar Eclipse!

Pisces New Moon Solar Eclipse

5 Mar

big waveMarch is set to be an eventful month with a Solar Eclipse on March 8th, a rare alignment of Jupiter and Pluto on March 16th, and the Lunar Eclipse on March 23rd. Eclipses are a big deal in Astrology and they pack a lot of power.  They seem to accelerate events; it’s the way that the Universe puts us on path and in alignment and often it may seem quite sudden as life seems to change and speed up. This is a Solar Eclipse.  Normally a New Moon Solar Eclipse is associated with beginnings and would have us planting our seeds for the future but this one is very much tied to the past.  There is a lot that needs to be reconciled and let go of.  It is a time to wash away and to purify.

A Solar Eclipse has the power of several New Moons and the effects can last at least six months to a year; sometimes longer.  Some of us may already be feeling the changes.  At the time of this Solar Eclipse in Pisces, the sky is saturated with emotional energies.  There are seven heavenly bodies in Pisces, the sign associated with the mystic and mysterious, the unconscious and the unseen.

In addition to the Solar Eclipse (Sun and Moon) in Pisces, we also have Mercury so our minds may not be clear, information could be missing or there could be outright lies and deception or it may be that you have only to rely on intuition as logic is in short supply now. Ceres is also in Pisces asking us to nurture ourselves and each other with compassion, to acknowledge and accept ALL parts of oneself, Chiron and the South Node are helping us to heal our wounds of the long ago past so that we can experience a turning point and Neptune is dissolving all of the boundaries making us aware that we are all in this together.

Sensitivity and spirituality is heightened now and you could easily tune into other realms. We may be feeling quite reflective spending time day dreaming, visualizing or in meditation. For some there could be feelings of sadness, hopelessness, loss, grief or guilt. Don’t despair; it’s part of the process. You could be flooded with images from long ago, feeling as if you want to give up or escape and experience the freedom of surrender.  Some may feel adrift, confused or just spaced out. On another level, this could also be a great time for creating with art, music, film or photography; really any and all of the arts or for getting out into nature and peaceful surroundings.

Jupiter in Vigo is across the sky exactly opposite this Solar Eclipse; making things seem larger than life. We could feel overwhelmed and overtaken by a tidal wave of emotions and/or visions and inspirations. Jupiter in Virgo can be very discriminating and this could be very helpful now in cutting through any confusion, deceit or erroneous perceptions. We’ll need to turn inward to see what is true for us and we may find that some beliefs that we’ve organized our lives around aren’t really true for us.  We need to become aware of how those beliefs are affecting our daily lives and we may learn the truth of things that we have been in the dark about and unaware of.  There is a bit of a reckoning between truth vs. fiction. We are now able to move beyond some of those beliefs that have kept us insecure or feeling inferior, to let them go, forgive ourselves (and others) of our mistakes or sins and to have the wisdom and courage not to repeat them or to fall victim.  Addicts, addictions and the serenity prayer come to mind now.

On another level, if we are feeling overwhelmed at the enormity of some creative project or vision, Jupiter can also help us sort through and organize everything, knowing what needs to be done and just how to do it with the most efficiency.

Saturn in Sagittarius is in a harsh angle to this Eclipse challenging us to be disciplined, limit any excesses and cautioning us not to overdo it.  This may also be helpful in assessing what is real, what is important, and what is necessary or a priority as well.  There could be a test of faith or judgment or a challenge to our assumptions or opinions.  It could also be that there are increased responsibilities or schedule deadlines that pose a challenge.  Any way you look at it, there seems to be a lot of work that needs to be done whether it’s in the material world or on a more inner level; most likely it’s both.

Pluto in Capricorn makes a favorable aspect to this Eclipse giving the power to eliminate barriers and obstacles. We are in a process of restructuring, rebuilding and/or recycling.  It could be that there is a powerful authority figure that plays a role now such as a boss or a father possibly helping from behind the scenes.

Jupiter in Virgo is quincunx Uranus in Aries suggesting that by improving our process and systems we can break free and initiate changes.  On an inner level if we can make adjustments and move beyond some of the beliefs we’ve organized our lives around that may not be our truth, we have the power to break free from the things that have held us back for so long.  Again, this all depends on our willingness to initiate changes and efforts to work on it but the energies are supportive of releasing the past.

Mars is in the early degrees of Sagittarius where he’ll remain for quite some time, now our efforts are aimed at getting to the truth and we may even be willing to fight for it. We at least want freedom of action now or to pursue things that are meaningful to us.   We want to be better and to do better. We may feel enthusiastic and full of energy.  That’s a good thing because there is much to be done.  Try to get most of it done before Mars goes retrograde April 17th; the energy won’t be as robust then. It’s a great time to be outdoors, for doing physical work or playing sports.  Just know your limits.

A few other things I want to mention in relation to this Eclipse. There is so much energy concentrated in watery Pisces; we could see water itself become an issue.  It may have to do with floods, oceans, tides or marine life or it may even be about the quality or availability of water.   Flint Michigan comes to mind.  I think we may also see more on the topics of the healthcare system, hospitals, care for the mentally ill or those battling addiction, and also with our prison system.

Lastly, I want to mention the role of Ceres in this Eclipse because I think it’s important.  Ceres is the Goddess of Grain, giving her rulership over agriculture and crops.  In my last entry, I mentioned the implications of pesticides and their possible effects as well as the GMO’s and the labeling of food becoming more of a mainstream topic.  There was a quick mention on a network news channel about the FDA investigating the effects.  Meanwhile there is a bill in the works now (it may have just passed already) in addition to the DARK act. The energies clearly illustrate this.  Basically, there are powerful companies trying to block our right to know what is in our food and where it comes from.  Many of these chemicals are banned in other countries yet legal here and “They” think we don’t even have the right to know about it.  They also think that they shouldn’t be held accountable for any effects or illnesses caused by these toxic chemicals. You can read more about it below if you’d like.  Food for thought and I suppose we ALL should give more thought to our food.

Blessings to ALL at this New Moon Solar Eclipse! May the Stars always shine upon YOU!

“If you thought Congress couldn’t get any more corrupt, we’re going to have to ask you to sit down when you read this. When we woke up yesterday morning, we almost fell over when we read a New York Times front-page story about how Monsanto received extra legal protection from the House of Representatives last year when it passed a bill to update the 40-year-old Toxic Substance Control Act (TSCA), which leaves millions of Americans vulnerable everyday to more than 1,000 hazardous chemicals still in sale across the country.

In the process of writing this bill, an unknown member of the House of Representatives slipped a one-paragraph provision in the TSCA bill that exempts Monsanto from ALL financial liability from lawsuits and financial settlements sought for PCB contamination and cleanup sites.

This is essentially a Get-out-of-Jail-Free card for Monsanto, exempting them from BILLIONS of dollars of legal liability from lawsuits for damages which have been filed in several major cities, including Seattle and San Diego and a lawsuit filed last year from individuals seeking damages for diagnoses of a form of cancer known as non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.

The St. Louis-based chemical and biotech seed giant is now claiming they “had nothing to do” with this new “Monsanto Clause”, even though Monsanto was the only company that made this toxic chemical.

According to the New York Times, “the provision does not mention the company by name, but between the early 1930s and 1977, Monsanto manufactured almost all of the 1.25 billion pounds of PCBs sold in the United States.”

That’s right, a member of Congress intentionally slipped in a provision to protect Monsanto’s toxic profits over those of individuals with cancer and major U.S. cities seeking millions in legal fees for cleaning up the cancer-causing PCBs, which are now pervasive in the environment.

Now, Monsanto is seeking extra legal protection from the Senate so it can continue to deny America’s their basic right to know what’s in their food by making state GMO labeling laws illegal.

Now Monsanto Seeks Special Legal Protection from State GMO Labeling Laws!

Today, at 10 am EST, the Senate Agriculture Committee is expected to vote to outlaw state GMO labeling laws in order to give extra legal protection for Monsanto and the biotech industry once again and we can’t let them get away with it!

Right now, Monsanto and the Grocery Manufacturers Association (GMA) are desperate to try to prevent the state of Vermont’s GMO labeling law from going into effect on July 1st of this year and your Senator could go along with it! Last summer the House passed a similar Dark Act bill by a vote of 275 to 150 and we can’t let the Senate pass this outrageous bill!

We need to make sure they hear – Loud and Clear – that we won’t allow them to steal our basic democratic rights to protect Monsanto’s toxic profits.”

New Moon Solar Eclipse in Scorpio

23 Oct

THE POWER OF LOVE

This New Moon Solar Eclipse falls in the very beginning (zero degrees) of Scorpio, the sign the sign of death and regeneration.  It is a time of endings and new beginnings. This Eclipse seems to be pretty positive which is a welcomed reprieve.  If things don’t feel that way to you, give it a little time and things should be looking up.

Venus, the planet of beauty and love is close to this Eclipse, at the same degree, putting relationships in the spotlight once again.  To me, this seems to indicate some sort of ‘reset’ button where relationships are concerned. All relationships even the platonic ones.  We get an opportunity to start over in a way.  All of 2014 has had some degree of this relationship theme of to it.  With the Nodes in the Aries/Libra polarity for some time now, we’ve been learning how to get along with others and what we need from them.  We’ve been learning how we can be an individual and still work with others as well as learning that the actions that we take affect other people.  It’s not just about us; the world does not revolve around us.  We are realizing that there are others out there and that we want and need them in our lives.  No man (or woman) is an island.

It may be that at some point in the recent past, there have been changes and shifts where our relationships are concerned.  The changes may even be coming from within; possibly with our attitudes about the important people in our lives.   Some relationships may have recently ended. Perhaps because we have outgrown it or have come to the conclusion that it is not what we want or that it is no longer fitting for the person we are becoming.  Perhaps it was the other person that decided to leave.  Maybe you have been re-considering lately what is important to you in regard to relationships with others.  Possibly asking yourself questions like: what do I want in a relationship? How do I want to be treated? What do I need or expect in my dealings with others? What am I willing to give/give up or to put up with?  How do the relationships in my life make me feel about myself?  How do I treat others?  How do others respond to me? These may be some of the questions occupying our minds lately.  It is just as important to check in on your relationship to yourself, feelings about self-love and self-worth.

With Venus in Scorpio so close to this Eclipse feelings could be passionate and lusty.  Desires, attraction and magnetism are strong with this placement.  Venus in Scorpio is attracted to those that they feel they can love, trust and share with at a very deep and personal level.  There’s nothing superficial or hollow about this influence.   You could feel magnetically attracted to someone at this time with a feeling that you are fated to meet them.  This Eclipse along with Venus makes a lovely connection with Neptune in Pisces producing an enchanting almost Magickal vibe.  Keep your ESP sharp and your psychic antennae up and see what messages you receive. This combination is also very good for creativity and the arts.  Perfect for some spooky Halloween fun.

Venus not only rules over love and relationships but also over our values and money in particular.  Venus in Scorpio is strong financially.  It may be at this time that you are able to attract certain financial resources.  Perhaps you are getting a loan or mortgage, settling an estate or an insurance claim, a divorce settlement or compensation for some other goods or services as a few examples.

Pallas is also so prominent at this Eclipse so that we are able to see the bigger picture and cut to the core of any psychological issues in the way we relate to others; such as any barriers keeping us from getting close, fears of intimacy or commitment etc. and how we may change that by using new strategies.  Saturn has also been in Scorpio for the last two years now and forcing us to ‘get real’ in our closest associations or with our attitudes toward or about them.  Pallas also makes this a good time for creativity and aesthetics, design; or for crafting things that require skill and artistry or even with musical instruments.

Mercury will station direct on the 25th, just days after the Eclipse and is opposite Uranus.  This could make communications, conversations, negotiations and travel surprising and unpredictable in the days that surround.  As if they weren’t already.

Mars enters Capricorn on the 26th where our actions and energies can be directed toward tangible achievements and goals.

At any rate, there are powerful and potent energies that surround this Eclipse. Enjoy!

New Moon Solar Eclipse in Taurus

8 May

Its Eclipse time and change is in the air. There was much we had to get to the core of lately, and extract any decay or ‘non-essentials’.  Something may have met its end. Don’t worry!  We need to make room for the new!  Several of the personal planets have just had it out with Saturn enabling us to see what needed to go and give us the strength and stamina to move mountains and get the job done. Saturn may have also had us feeling blocked, delayed or frustrated for whatever reason or it could be that there was an issue with a parent, boss or authority figure or even with you as the parent or authority.  Maybe we have been working very hard lately for long term goals or results with little appreciation or compensation. While all of this hard work wasn’t so immediately gratifying, we should start seeing the results or reaping some rewards soon enough.  The New Moon Solar Eclipse in the fertile sign of Taurus will see to the growth of the new seeds we are planting. Taurus is an Earth sign and ruled by Venus, the Goddess of beauty and love. We may literally be getting our hands in the earth and planting seeds. It’s the perfect time to spend in natural surrounds and revel in Mother Nature.  With Pallas in such close aspect, it is very favorable for healing Mother Earth as well as beautifying the landscape.   Pallas in Taurus could also highlight issues with plant based medicine, as well as healing through touch and massage.  We’ll also be getting some help from Mars and Mercury at this Eclipse. While they met up on the 7th-8th,    having our thoughts and actions  in sync on practical matters,  getting things done and ‘handling the baggage’ as indicated by the Sabian Symbol.  At this time, we are concerned with how we are making our lives more secure and enjoyable, our relationships more relate-able and our surroundings more beautiful.  Taurus is a material sign and wants to be comfortable and to have a quality of life, not just earn a paycheck.  This eclipse could help us to come up with practical plans that are bound to last.  Taurus carries on and is unwavering and solid but also slow to move and doesn’t want to give anything up or change easily (that includes possessions, relationships, ideas etc.). With the help of Mercury keeping our ideas grounded, they able to take form as Mars gives us the energy to push on, keep at it and ‘make it happen’.  A Solar Eclipse indicates new beginnings but the South Node is close to this eclipse which is karmic and rooted in the past.  The Scorpio Lunar eclipse on April 25 was about letting go and it could be that we are made aware of what ruts we get stuck in and why.  And we may actually be able to do something about it!  Finally!  We may be able to shake lose what mental ruts or thought patterns that seemed to be permanent and go on forever.  We may be able to use some of our practical gifts, talents or lessons from the past to make something new that we like and that will last as well as provide us with more comfort, security and enjoyment.   We could even be transforming old structures or recycling and making something new (and pretty!).    Pluto and Ceres also go head to head at this eclipse possibly providing a turning point with obsessions and intensity in regard to parenting, child rearing, family / clan issues; parent/child complexes – especially with issues of attachment and separation  and ‘mother love’ vs. self-love as well as issues of nurturing and nutrition.

This New Moon Solar Eclipse is at 19’31” Taurus.  The Sabian Symbol is “Wisps of clouds, like wings are streaming across the sky”.   We are able to see things from a higher perspective and have become aware of where we may need to change course.  Pallas is in the same degree as this eclipse giving us a broader perspective, enabling us to get the bigger picture, she further helps us in problem solving, trouble shooting and planning.  It seems that after the removal of the decay, we are left with very fertile ground at this eclipse.  Whatever we do now seems to be practical, sustaining and long lasting so make sure it is what you want!
