Jupiter Enters Libra

9 Sep

equality-picJupiter enters Libra today, September 9th.  The last time Jupiter was in Libra was back in 2004.  Look back for a common theme. For the past year Jupiter has been in Virgo increasing our powers of discernment, helping us to problem solve and find solutions for ways we can improve our everyday lives.  Now that we’ve cleaned our houses and gotten things in order, we’re now ready to invite others in.

During this next year while Jupiter is in Libra, relationships, business or personal will play a bigger role in our lives now. This includes competitors and those with opposing views.  Perhaps there is a relationship with someone from another culture or abroad, in another country.  Our opportunities and benefits may come through others and we’ll have to learn to get along, cooperate and collaborate with each other.  At this time, we may also feel more supported in our relationships.    Our growth will come through our associations with other people and relationships can be really positive now. Partnerships started now could be really beneficial in the future.  It’s also possible that there is a relationship that you’ve outgrown or a way of relating and/or relationship patterns that are no longer fitting.

Libra is the sign of the scales and while Jupiter is in Libra, we are aiming to Increase the balance, even out the playing field and level things off.  We now want more diplomacy, equality, more give and take and agreements that are fair.  Many social issues dealing with equality and justice will come more into focus during the coming year. Several come to mind.

Increase the peace!!!! Should be our mantra for Jupiter in Libra!  The world sure needs it!

It would be nice to see more generosity, tolerance and tact in the way in which we treat and relate to others as it is a reflection on ourselves anyway.

On the flip side- the scales could tip too far to one side causing extreme imbalance and making it the elephant in the room kind of thing that you must address; you have no choice, you can no longer ignore it and move forward.  The ultimate goal is to come to some kind of compromise; to bring balance, peace and harmony.  It just might take some doing to get there.

If you are dealing with legal issues, an agreement could be reached during this period.

In matters of health, we may see issues related to kidneys, bladder, the urinary tract, diabetes or any kind of imbalance as well as lower back and needing to get things back in alignment.

This could also be a good time to hire a lawyer, consultant, designer/decorator or gynecologist to name a few.

On another level, we may feel really creative at this time.  Our sense of style is heightened now and we could enjoy making things beautiful or luxurious.  There could also be more social opportunities during the next year; contacting and connecting with others more.  We may now want to team up and get input from others.  Watch for competition and comparisons go for inclusiveness and cooperation instead.  We may need to look for alternatives or to look at things from another’s perspective.  We can also agree to disagree as we are all entitled to an opinion and you know what they say about opinions. We have a whole year ahead to benefit from Jupiter’s wisdom so make the best of it!

New Moon in Leo

26 Jul

The Leo New Moon officially welcomes Jupiter to this creative sign. Jupiter moved into Leo on July 16th and hasn’t visited this sunny sign since August 2002- August 2003. This lunation sets the energy in motion. This Leo New Moon is conjunct Jupiter and fun is in order. Over the next year while Jupiter tours Leo, our growth can be experienced through our children, our creative self-expression and by giving recognition to our own inner child. We may be presented with creative opportunities and can even receive a boost in confidence and self-esteem.

Mars also changes signs and moves into Scorpio just before the Leo New Moon, after a very long stay in Libra. All of 2014 so far! While most of 2014 may seem like a ‘lost year’ so far with very little forward movement, things will take on a different vibe. It’s possible you’ve needed to come to a decision or agreement lately or possibly pushing for cooperation or initiating contact with an important other but just kept spinning wheels or going back and forth and just couldn’t get there. It may have seemed like you took one step forward and two steps back but now with Mars in Scorpio, no more ‘up in the air’ or vacillation. Things seem more all or nothing or a do or die type of energy. At this time, we may also start to feel more vital and alive, confident and passionate with renewed vigor and energy. Hot Blooded

This New Moon is also square Mars (then Mars and Jupiter perfect their square in a few days so this influence will linger.) We could even see a mix of tempers and threats sparked by egos and opinions with this aspect so be careful not to put on too much of a show. The positive is there is an intense drive for heart centered activities, for fun and enjoyment and for things that make us feel special. During this transit we may also feel magnetic and passionate, theatrical and romantic, and daring to be a bit dramatic.

Jupiter Rx in Cancer

7 Nov

Today, Jupiter the planet of luck and expansion will retrograde in Cancer until early March 2014.  During this time we may have to turn inward and to test society’s  beliefs, including religious beliefs, philosophies, prejudices, morals and sense of right and wrong against our own when it comes to ideas of family, home, comfort, tradition, race, ethnicity, roots, nurturing, care taking, security, safety and even ‘homeland security’.  It’s a time of inner expansion where you can find out how you feel about those ideas. They’ll need to be measured and tested against your own and you’ll have to judge things for yourself and come to find your own truth.

A few examples of the manifestation of this energy can be seen in the local news.  This week on the “Today Show” they are highlighting stories of adoption.  There was a segment on the NBC news last night about ‘unconditional parenting’.  There was also a story on the news about people taking issue with prayer at a town board meeting.  This was because the prayer was of one faith while leaving out another board members’ faith.  These are just a few minor examples and you may see how this is relevant in your personal life.

Lunar Eclipse in Aries

18 Oct

This is a Full Moon Lunar Eclipse so it is an especially powerful lunation.  This Full Moon brings a culmination or a turning point to an issue that you may have stood alone on or a project that you alone are responsible for or something that you have initiated or are the leader in.

Mars in Virgo is opposite Neptune in Pisces at this Lunar Eclipse.  We need to use our powers of discrimination to sort through any fog, forgeries, falsities or illusions.  We may need to make order from chaos.  It could also be that an active agenda may run counter to the unforeseen events, wasted energies and the need to withdrawal.  This is a good aspect for creative work because not only do you have the inspiration but the willingness and drive to put the work into it.  It could also be that you have a very active dream life during this time or restless sleep or even sleepless nights.  Also, watch with alcohol and drugs.  It seems that our urge to purify takes on the addictive patterns that contribute to our own undoing but really only serve to avoid the underlying issues.  We are able to penetrate into the layers at this time.

Mercury in Scorpio is trine Jupiter in Cancer at the time of this eclipse.  Mercury is moving very slowly now since he will begin his retrograde period on the 21st.  Since Mercury began his tour of Scorpio, our thoughts and conversations lately may have been deep, obsessive, or private.  During this time we may really turn inward – into the abyss.  With Mars in Virgo complementing this energy this is set to be a very (self) analytical time.  Scorpio is an ‘all or nothing’ type of energy.  It is very thorough and cutting to the core.  Virgo is very discriminating so everything could be up for examination and possibly on the chopping block. We may be zeroing in on why we think what we think, and say what we say and do what we do.  This process of thorough examination, discrimination and elimination is necessary in order to move beyond our comfort zone.  We may be able to have an honest talk about feelings regarding sex, money, death, insurance, divorce, occult and other taboo subjects as well.   Conversations could be brutally honest with harsh words and truths.  Try not to ruffle too many feathers or trample on too many feelings.

August 20 Full Moon in Aquarius

20 Aug

The Full Moon August 20 is at 28’11 Aquarius where the Sabian Symbol is “A butterfly emerging from the chrysalis”.

At the time of this Full Moon in Aquarius, Jupiter is closing in on a square to Uranus.  Uranus is the ruler of this Aquarius Full Moon and upping the ante on the unexpected factor.  This is also somewhat of an ‘astrological blue moon’ since this is the second Full Moon in the sign of Aquarius. Jupiter entered the ‘zone’ of the much talked about Uranus/ Pluto square back on August 7th where Jupiter opposed Pluto.  Jupiter increases everything it touches so it’s been magnifying the unstable and volatile nature of this energy pattern.  The Volcanic eruption in Japan on Sunday is an example of this energy and it was also said to be the highest volcanic plume ever recorded for this volcano.  We see the influence of Jupiter in the mix amplifying the volatility.  We can even see this with the escalating violence and upheaval in Egypt in the last couple of weeks.  The powerful energies of these outer planets define and shape a generation. What this means to you will depend largely on your own natal chart.  You could ask yourself where you may have experienced sudden changes and upheaval in your own life. What seems to be cropping up in your own life? Things might get crazy at this Full Moon. It is possible that things come to a head at this Full Moon while leading to the emergence of something new as the Sabian Symbol suggests.   Though these upcoming changes are unsettling, in many cases they are needed and even welcomed.

This Full Moon makes an opposition to a Mercury/Ceres conjunction in Leo where communicating creative thoughts and ideas create self-esteem and self- worth.  We have a need to nurture and take pride in our creative side.  Children and children’s issues in regard to learning and education are highlighted at this time as well. It could be that you are registering your child in school for the first time, or your child could be changing schools, or there could be a change at the school or with the school itself.  For example: a new principal, new teacher or faculty, or a new location due to a school closing, etc.  Since it is now “back to school” time, we’ll encounter these issues as usual during this time but it’s becoming more apparent that our educational system is yet another crumbling structure within our society.  The Uranus/Pluto square in effect until 2015 is showing us what doesn’t and isn’t working any longer and where changes need to be implemented, often by force since on some levels we’re refusing to budge.

Water Grand Trine

19 Jul

While thinking about this Water Grand Trine between Jupiter in Cancer, Saturn in Scorpio and Neptune in Pisces, the issue of race came to mind. It’s a hot topic lately here in the U.S. especially after the Trayvon Martin verdict. Cancer rules over things like race, lineage, our roots, etc.  The law, courts and legal decisions fall under the realm of Jupiter as well as our sense of right and wrong. The issue of race has also made the news recently with the Paula Dean scandal and also with a Cheerios commercial a few weeks back that featured a bi-racial family that ‘offended’ people.  It seems that we need to explore this taboo subject and break down the fears and barriers and realize that we are all connected. We are one race, the human race.  Sure there are differences among us that may be specific to particular groups but so what? That’s what adds a little flavor and variety to life. Why do minor differences divide us?  We should be able to acknowledge differences without out it causing hate. No one really wants to have an honest talk about it. Why is it black or white? Why does one group have to blame or play victim to the other? It seems that the Universe is conspiring to have us honestly acknowledge the subject of race and cultural lineage and differences along with some of our beliefs, assumptions and prejudices in this regard.  Mars will conjunct Jupiter and move into this Water Grand Trine on July 20th  possibly bringing all of this water energy to a boil with emotions and anger as people try to assert their own ideologies, opinions and beliefs.  There is also another Grand Trine between Mercury in Cancer, The North Node in Scorpio, and Chiron in Pisces.  This could indicate that healing could come by having these emotional conversations that are critical in order to birth a new path and destiny. We also still have the ongoing square between Uranus and Pluto causing social unrest and upheaval around the world until 2015. These planets met up in a conjunction in the late sixties.  During that time, here in America, there was a lot of racial tension and Martin Luther King Jr. was killed during that period.  It appears that this theme is upon us once again.  So what are we going to do about it?  Can we ever get beyond the issue of race?
